Some of our students participated a unique and special project once again this year. It is called the Memory Project. Our art teacher, Mrs. Leon, receives a few portraits of students from somewhere around the world, this year they were from Syria. Our students paint and/or draw them and send them back. The video shows how powerful this simple act can be.
Here is a quote from our Head of School, Brian Sullivan, “Art is a powerful tool that can be used to communicate a need and educate. We sincerely appreciate and value the work of the Memory Project.”

What is The Maranatha Experience? It is something that is hard to put into words. It cannot be summed up in our distinctly Christian college-preparatory education, our state-of-the-art S.T.E.A.M. Center, our Beyond Impact Entrepreneurship Center of Excellence, our vertically aligned robotics program that begins in pre-kindergarten, or our new Schroeder Center for Music. It is a feeling of belonging. A feeling of acceptance. A loving feeling that can only be found in the hallways, classrooms, playing fields, and theaters.
We invite you to learn more by attending our Open House on Thursday, April 12 at 7 p.m. Here, you will hear from our Head of School, tour the facility with a principal, here from parents and students, and meet some of our amazing staff.
Please try to arrive a little before 7 p.m. so as to not miss any of the informational presentation.
We look forward to seeing you.
Grandparents, parents, and special guests, this is your day to Experience Maranatha! We are taking a few of our favorite events (Grandparent and Special Friend Day, Art Festivals, Senior’s Art Showcase, One Act Plays and Book Fair) and combining them to make up this BIG day at MCA.
This event will showcase our music program with concerts, the visual arts program with displays, our engineering and robotics programs with exhibits, the theater program with dramas, and our annual book fair fundraiser for our media centers.
New this Year: FOOD TRUCKS and vendors will be on site. We will have a variety of food options for you to purchase lunch right here at MCA rather than leaving campus. With so much going on, this will make your day a little less hectic and more fun! Please be sure to bring cash.
Please RSVP at mcamustangs.org/experiencemaranatha for everyone who will be attending, including parents, grandparents, and special friends.
Also, if you would like to help out during the day, we would love the extra support. Please sign up to volunteer here.
You are invited to Breakfast With Brian on Wednesday, April 25 at 8 a.m. at the Coffee House located in the lobby of Living Word Christian Center. This is the last time Amy, licensed mental health counselor, will be joining Breakfast With Brian for the 2017-18 school year. She will be speaking about Resiliency / Parenting a Child that is Not Like You.
Guests will enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee and breakfast item from the Coffee House.
Meet Maranatha is a relaxed, yet informative, open house event that gives prospective families an opportunity to meet current families, have a cup of coffee with the head of school, and go on a tour during school hours with our principals.
Please take a moment and think of someone to invite to “Meet Maranatha” and help the Academy grow!
Our next Meet Maranatha will take place on Wednesday, April 25 at 9:30 a.m. in the Living Word Lobby.
