OUR AMAZING PRE-K PROGRAM

Maranatha’s (MCA) pre-kindergarten program is physically and emotionally a safe place to learn, with caring and supportive teachers and staff that partner with parents in their child’s development.

MCA’s pre-kindergarten program is licensed through the Minnesota Department of Human Services as a child care center. We are fully-accredited through the International Christian Accrediting Association, North Central Association Commission of Accreditation and School Improvement/Division of AdvancEd. Our teachers have a minimum of a four-year college degree and are called by God to minister to the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical needs of our students. Our desire is to partner with you and your church to build a solid foundation for your child’s success.

Our pre-kindergarten serves students ages 36 months through five years old with a 1:10 teacher to student ratio.

Our pre-kindergarten program goals and objectives are developmentally appropriate for success for three-year-old, four-year-old, and five-year-old children. Students will demonstrate skills in the areas of cognitive development, language, social, math, and science, gross and fine motor.

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math

What do slope, magma, and hibernation have in common? They are all basic vocabulary terms that are heard in pre-kindergarten classrooms at MCA.  Why? Proponents of S.T.E A.M. education in Minnesota say that hearing the terms in early education classrooms will help prepare children for these concepts that are further explored throughout their educational experience.

Maranatha pre-kindergarten students will explore a variety of topics from dinosaurs to space exploration, and engineering to tornadoes.

We believe that young children should be provided with learning tools that pique their natural curiosity to touch, manipulate, investigate, and experiment. We focus on teamwork, problem solving and developing critical thinking skills.

Our students work with simple machines including pendulums, fulcrums, wheels and axles, screws, gears, inclined planes, and motion. Geometry terms such as squares, rectangles, circles, triangles, lines, and angles are introduced through a variety of learning experiences.

God has created a wonderfully amazing world and our students are given the opportunity to discover areas they may not have been exposed to before.

Being a distinctly Christian school starts with our youngest students. The pre-kindergarten classes actively participate in chapel twice a month for praise and worship and an age appropriate lesson. Other mornings, classes join together to hear about Old Testament Bible heroes who will become living examples of how to trust God. As we put on the “Armor of God” each morning, every pre-k student is reminded that strength and protection come from the Lord. Learning about the fruit of the Spirit, prayer, and daily Bible confessions help students understand how to apply biblical principles in their everyday life.

Our students learn to cultivate a generous and thankful heart through outreach activities that include collecting toys at Christmas, collecting money to donate farm animals to third-world families, and gathering personal care items for orphans in Zacatecas, Mexico.

Our goal is to provide a well-rounded, spiritual and educational foundation enabling students to become successful lifelong learners
