(Romans 6:9-10 NKJV) “Knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.”
As we begin what Christians throughout the world call Holy Week, we need to remember the indescribable gift God gave us through His Son. This week presents us with a great opportunity to reflect on the amazing sacrifice Jesus made. His love for us was so strong that He not only gave His own life, but also triumphed over the grave three days later. In doing so, He also defeated death for us too. Jesus has bridged the divide between mankind and God forever. His cross freed us from the power of sin and death while reconciling us to our heavenly Father. His cross couldn’t be simpler. One beam is horizontal and the other is vertical. One reaches out, like God’s love, and the other reaches up, as does God’s holiness. One represents the width of His love, while the other reflects the height of His holiness. The cross is the intersection where God forgave me…and you. It’s where God put our sin on His Son…for all of us.
“God put the wrong on Him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God” (2 Cor. 5:21 MSG).
Join me in celebrating the truth that Jesus put things “right with God” for me and you. Then, let’s celebrate that He is risen! The tomb is empty because He is alive and loves us!
Happy Easter to you and your family!
