"Wizard of Oz" Cast Interview

We interviewed Kimberly A. (Mrs. Gulch) and Kiera H. (Aunt Emily). We started by asking the two of them why they joined the play. Kimberly responded that “her initial love for the arts and theater” inspired her to join the play, and Kiera responded with “team building.” One of the most attractive aspects of theater to them, and many, is that you get to meet new people. After all, it is a team sport, and you cannot have a whole cast if it is not working together. The cast grows together practice by practice and show by show—it is like a family growing as one! 

I also asked what about this play in particular they liked. Kimberly loved “the message,” as it was about already having the things that are sought for. It is about home, family, and how important it is to know how much you have in your family. Kiera feels that it brings back memories and is a story she has always loved. Finally, I asked them to sum up the play in one word. Kimberly explained that it was “wondrous,” while Kiera described it as “nostalgic.” 

In all, the play is currently going wonderfully. Every cast member unanimously agrees that this show is amazing and that everyone has grown and become better as their character each show. We are all excited to return to the show and present magical and heartwarming entertainment for people this weekend
